Book Proposals
FAQs
1
How do I know if this service is right for me?
This service is right for those who:
-
have a book idea and eventually want to traditionally publish
-
have a completed, professionally edited manuscript that's ready for submission
-
are in contact with an agent or acqs editor who is requesting that you put together a book proposal
2
How much does it cost for you to write my book proposal?
$15,000 USD flat fee, split into flexible monthly payments.
3
How long does it take?
About 3–6 months, depending on complexity
4
If you write my proposal, do I need to hire you for ghostwriting?
Nope! But you'll likely want to considering how intimately I will know your book and goals.
5
Will you help me pitch my book proposal to agents and publishers?
No, sorry. My work as a ghostwriter begins and ends with the development of the book. I will, however, point you in the direction of agents and publishers who work on books in your genre.
A book proposal has a few key functions:
-
Shares the ins and outs of your book idea, who you are as an author, and your marketing and promotion plans to demonstrate your book's marketability to agents and publishers.
-
Acts as a one-stop shop for all things Your Book™ so you can easily repurpose its content for marketing and publicity efforts, media pitches, self-publishing tasks, and more.
-
Highlights just how original, timely, complete, and impactful your book or book idea is (or is not), opening your eyes to what needs to be clarified or shifted for your book's success.
The Process:
1. We'll hop on a discovery call to talk all about your book and what you can expect in the writing process. If we're a good fit, we'll sign a contract.
2. I'll interview you, take a look at your existing writing, conduct some research, then create a book outline for you to review and approve.
3. I'll write your proposal's three sample chapters one at a time, sending them to you for your review when they are done.
4. Once you approve of each chapter, I'll complete a line edit chapter by chapter and send them to you for your review.
5. I'll then develop the rest of the proposal, checking in periodically for your input and approval. The proposal I craft for you will include:
-
An overview of your book
-
Author bio
-
Your marketing & promotion plan
-
Competition titles
-
Annotated chapter outline
6. Finally, I'll send you on your way with a list of agents (as well as their submission guidelines) and a sample query letter you can use to pitch your book with confidence.
