  • have a structurally sound, complete manuscript that says exactly what you want it to say, but when you read it aloud it sounds awkward, clunky, or boring

2

How much does line editing cost?

$5,000–$8,500 USD flat fee, split into flexible monthly payments

3

How long does it take?

About 3–6 months, depending on complexity and your review times

4

Will my book be ready to publish after this service?

Yep! When we're done, you'll have an engaging, easy-to-read manuscript that's ready for submission or final proofs before self-publishing.

Have you ever gotten lost in a book, reading it from cover to cover in one sitting without any effort? That's likely the result of excellent line editing.

Line editing is just as it sounds: line-by-line edits to consider the rhythm, intent, meaning, impact, and resonance of each sentence. Where developmental editing focuses on the structure of the book, this service focuses on the musicality of your writing, ensuring your manuscript flows seamlessly from paragraph to paragraph and chapter to chapter to make for an effortless, page-turning read.

How It Works:

1. We'll hop on a free 30-minute intro call to discuss your book and goals in greater detail. If we're a good fit, we'll sign a service agreement and get started.

2. I'll meticulously line edit your manuscript a few chapters at a time, keeping your voice and writing style intact while improving the music and rhythm of each sentence. You'll have several opportunities to provide your feedback, and I'll make revisions based on your suggestions.

3. When the manuscript is ready, I'll perform a final copy edit to catch any lingering errors and inconsistencies and send you on your way with a clean manuscript and next steps in the publishing process.
